A Few Clean Breaths at Sugar Bowl above Donner Lake
Once again I come to you seeking a moment of your time and a few of your hard earned dollars (more power to you if they came the easy way).
Each year the American Lung Association organizes regional Asthma Walks around the country to raise awareness about asthma, raise money to support the many programs that help people treat this disease and continue the search for a cure. I participate in the fund raising effort each year because I am constantly moved by the stories I hear. Not just stories of frightening episodes where loved ones struggle to just take a breath but also uplifting stories of the difference the ALA has made in the daily lives of those same people.
Nearly 4000 Americans died last year from asthma but only a modest amount of proactive education and management could prevent many of those deaths and make life with this illness substantially better … and that’s what this fund raiser is all about.
So, I’ll set up the web page, make the calls, send the e mails and walk for the cause. All you have to do is reply with a pledge. In return, you get the satisfaction of knowing that these dollars are actually going to help (and provide a tax deduction).
